4D Design

As Director of the Cranbrook Academy of Art and Art Museum, Chris conceptualized the first new academic offering at the academy in 49 years, and led its accreditation and implementation. 4D Design, the newest MFA program, built upon the institution’s experimental design legacy and established the first technology-focused graduate degree program in the institution’s history. Chris appointed designer, educator, and author Carla Diana as the first Designer-in-Residence to lead the program, which blends experience design, interaction design and robotics and prepares a new generation of designers to work at the forefront of new and emerging technologies.
