Project Lab: Sound Oasis

A university campus has its own rhythm and tempo, punctuated by the ebb and flow of students between classes. With Project Lab: Sound Oasis, the California State University, Long Beach campus became an immersive audio soundscape merging electronic compositions with the outdoor environment. Activated by twelve of the foremost sound artists from around the globe on a 24-hour basis, the campus became an immersive experience in which acoustic dimensions of space, duration, and perception melded with the sounds of campus life. Participating artists included: Maryanne Amarcher, Chris Watson, Guillermo Galindo, Merzbow, Manuel Rocha, Slavek Kwi, Radio Qualia, UltraRed, Luz Maria Sanchez, Rogelio Soza, Mario De Vega and Illustrious.
