TAMPER: A Gestural Interface for Cinematic Design

Tamper: A Gestural Interface for Cinematic Design

TAMPER was based around a gesturally driven operating system developed by futurist and scientist John Underkoffler. The system brought cutting‐edge interface technology to the practice of film production, revolutionizing the practice of film editing. The exhibition became an editing room that transformed the typically passive art experience into an active engagement in which visitors became cinema collage artists, using their hands directly to grab and recompose cinematic elements—characters, props, architecture—sampled from different films.
